Frustration

I've been trying to do a project for the World Cup knit along. I chose to do my first lace project. I have been having problems with the pattern stitch not working out to the correct number of stitches when I get to the end of the row. I have tried ripping out the row, but I have difficulty recovering my stitches. I'm using a really fine Alpaca lace yarn so I keep losing the stitches. I think I finally solved the problem. I was reading up on the Knittyboard about using a lifeline. I will try doing it at the beginning of my pattern and see if it works if I have to frog.

A Lifeline can really be a god send. I did my first lace project for the knitting olympics. Everytime I repeated the pattern I ran a life line.

Here is a picture of my lifelines on my project. I tied them to each other as it moved up.

Also if you are looking for a pretty easy pattern take a look at Kiri.

It really was the easiest pattern that I could find.

Good luck...
